FluentPulse exists because I needed something that didn't exist.
Why FluentPulse was built
I'm in my 40's. I've stuttered since I was about four years old.
I was laughed at in school and made fun of. Interviews were palm-sweatingly painful. I used to scratch my hands when I stuttered. I would lose my breath. My tongue would show. My heart would race like a Formula 1 car.
I tried various techniques over the years, and they didn't work.
Then — gradually — it clicked. Stuttering is who I am. I will have good days and bad days. I celebrate both, and I put myself out of my comfort zone in order to become comfortable with my stuttering.
I realised I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
By day I work full-time in IT. FluentPulse is what I build in the evenings and at weekends — because this matters to me, and because the tools I needed still didn't exist.
Once I became calm with my stuttering and slowed down my breathing, I was able to get full sentences out and have conversations with minimal stuttering. I still have good days and bad ones. But I never apologise for it.
At some point I realised the tools I needed didn't exist in one place. There were good books, scattered videos, professional therapy, online forums — but nothing that brought together the daily habits, the situation scripts, the mindset work, and the technique training in a way I could actually use.
So I built it.
FluentPulse is the resource I wish had existed through all of those years — built by someone who has actually lived it.
"For me it was never the stuttering — it was always the Fear of Stuttering that made me stutter."
What FluentPulse stands for
Everything we build is grounded in three principles:
Honesty over hype
We do not promise to cure your stutter. We don't sell miracle techniques. We tell the truth about what works, what doesn't, and what changes when you practise consistently over time.
Lived experience as foundation
Every resource is built from the inside — by someone who knows the dread before a hard word, the silence on a difficult call, the shame of an apology that wasn't needed.
Science, simply explained
FluentPulse content is grounded in established fluency therapy techniques — easy onset, voluntary stuttering, the anticipatory anxiety loop, pacing, and disclosure. Real techniques, explained in plain English.
What FluentPulse offers
The full FluentPulse system is built around progressive, accessible resources:
The mission
The mission is simple: help people who stutter stop suffering around their stutter — and start living past it.
Not because the stutter disappears. For most of us, it doesn't. But because the shame, the avoidance, and the cognitive load of concealment can all be reduced significantly with the right tools, practised consistently.
That's what FluentPulse is for.
